Today we toured the grounds of the Hi Chi Minh mausoleum in Hanoi,followed by a tour of the “Hanoi Hilton”, the prison where American pilots and airmen were held prisoner, including Senator John McCain .

Yesterday Charlie, Jackie and Dawn joined an impressive young local guide, Tim, for a tour of 3 villages near Hanoi to visit an incense factory, a conical hat making operation , and a silk fabric village. An amazing day . It poured rain for a short while but didn’t stop us from seeing a lot and learning tons about these crafts, which all may be dying arts since no young people are pursuing them.
